Weight loss which is achieved in this way is more beneficial, compared to the methods of losing it through crash or fad diets. There is no clear-cut best loss program; weight loss, especially for teens, is the result of the right combination of diet and exercise, and a willingness to do what is needed.

Vigorous activity is easier for teenagers, since they are more acquainted with the idea of sports for fitness, and can lose weight and burn fat without practically even knowing it. But for the couch potatoes and the video game generation, sitting on the sofa for half a day does not contribute in any way to healthy loss. Weight loss is achieved only through activity and diet, and the best time to start is now.

Aerobic exercise for teens include sporting activities which involve movement of the entire body, such as football or basketball, and even the more moderate ones, like walking, swimming or tossing a Frisbee around the yard. In a broader sense, activity is the best loss program. Weight loss is best achieved in this way for most teens. These do not only promote fat and excess calorie loss, teen weight management is also accomplished. For those who want to increase their body's endurance, strength training is the next step; this method involves the use of free weights, the body's natural weight, and weight machines to provide muscle resistance. It is important to begin strength training at a beginner's level, or at a level which the teenager can competently handle, so that the results translate into a healthy loss. Weight management is only effective for teens if the program is best suited for their body type, their age, and their individual lifestyle.

Weight loss can be explained as body losing weight, typically by burning fats. This can be achieved by doing daily exercises. To achieve weight loss, body should expend more calories than taken in. At this point, you have to do two things.
- Reducing the amount of food consumed.

- Increasing physical activity (Exercise!).

A healthy weight loss program MUST contain both of them. You shouldn't lose weight without exercising or by only exercising.
Types of exercises that may help you
Aerobic exercise: Walking and running will help you to increase cardiovascular endurance.
Anaerobic exercise: Weight lifting and sprinting will help you to increase short-term muscle strength.
Flexibility exercise: Stretching will help you to improve the range of motion of muscles and joints.
Physical exercise: Physical exercise is the key to healthy weight loss. It will help you to maintain healthy weight; build and maintain healthy bones, muscles, and joints; promote physiological well-being; reduce surgical risks; and strengthen the immune system.
